the tactile arterial feeling of the planetary beat by Kintoopians on the surface of Kintoop. The beats are generated by an internal planetary organ (heart) whose function is still in question. The planetary pulse is used as the smallest measurement of time on Kintoop. One year normally consists of 4000-5000 planetary pulses, depending on the mood of the planet. Regional conflicts, lack of caressing, entertaining, i.e. everything that worries or angers the planet causes an increase of planetary pulse, and speeds up Kintoopian lives. Conversely, everything that calms the planet down, makes her happier, but also depresses her, lowers the pulse rate and slows down Kintoopian society.
is a planetary appendix in the order of Actives and the family of Tongues. Originally they are from the Stinking Gorge that is close to Small Light Nose but because of their extreme importance healing tongues were artificially spread across the planet including the Dark and Light Poles areas, where they are cultivated in hotcaves. When they are stretched they can achieve a height of 30 to 100 proboscises and have a thick soft trunk that can change diameter from a third of the height of the specie to full height, making the tongue look like a ball. There is a hole, or throat, in the root of a healing tongue that goes deep into the planet. A natural instinct of a healing tounge is to swallow everything in the surrounding area down into the hole, first licking what it finds to enable a smoother gulp. Whereas the salivation of healing tongues is of major benefit for Kintoopians, and is the best way to suture our bodies, their habit of swallowing everything in their reach is extremely dangerous. There are very few chances to rescue a Kintoopian sunk into the planet. Tamed healing tongues are trained not to swallow or their throats are safely sewn up. Anyway it is not recommended to use a healing tongue without a qualified doctor.
is an extremely dangerous and demanding Kintoopian occupation. Very few Kintoopians succeed in it. The ultimate goal of storm aerodancers is to calm down planetary storms (Kintoop´s bad moods) by jumping into the heart of tornados, and dancing inside them while singing emergency lullabies. Their true high art amuses and soothes Mother Kintoop. However the dancing and singing part takes up only 0.0001% of an aerodancers’ life. Aerodancers spend the rest of the time searching for storms all around the planet. Small groups of 5-8 Kintoopians jump together, visiting recently irritated places. To maintain a high level of creativity in the profession, they chant their emergency lullabies, and constantly invent new songs and aero-moves while they are searching for storms. They detect potential storms using Y-shape rods and watch for possible bubble-messages from those who might have detected a nearby storm. Before taking any action, storm aerodancers choose a couple of officers from the group who are then in charge of catching fallen artists. Bodies of dancers not caught are impossible to recover.
means of connecting, or linking, two locations together. It is usually located above the ground and it looks like one of the planet’s tendons. The tendon/mucus canal can grow naturally outside the planet, it can be industrially extracted from within the planet or it can be grown in an agricultural environment; but it always sags in the middle and is moistened artificially by the planetary mucus to enable more creative and faster sliding. There are arse canals and industrial canals too that are used for shipping goods. The latter are usually enclosed for safety reasons. The industrial canals can only be used for travel if a bobsleigh or hypercapsule is used too. Currently, Kintoopian science does not know how to map and grow a canal between two arbitrary points, because tendons control their own growth and only allow slight modifications. So they basically define the important centers where the population lives and works.
planetary appendix in the order of Actives and the family of Fingers. Jibajibs grow everywhere but Light Pole, where it is too hot for them. They reach a height of 60 to 180 proboscises and have trunk diameters of 5 to 20 proboscises. A jibajib’s trunk consists of a firm bone, 3 to 7 joints that allow the appendix to bend down and poke into the ground, and flesh enveloped into the elastic and sometimes hairy skin. Some jibajib species have nails. Jibajibs can be stiff and agile, blunt and sharp, one-directional and multi-flexible, wild and trained. Wild jibajibs are dangerous; they often bend to probe the planet and flatten everything they can reach. Trained jibajibs are used for many purposes, for example, as transport facilities, theater performers, and agricultural tools.
planetary appendix in the genus Mushrooms and family Pimples. Vtonches can be as high as 30 to 300 proboscises (occasionally 500 proboscises) and have stem diameters of 10 to 80 proboscises. They are native to the canyons of western Kalopyango but currently farmed all over the Light Hemisphere at altitudes of 1,600-2000 proboscises above mean sweat level (AMSL). Vtonches are topped by a cup with bearded petals and eyelashes. Some species have a bushy stamen at the center of the cup. Modified vtonches, for example, so-called, “catapults” or “Soul Spitters”, are used for slicking ‒ sending Kintoopian souls to other planets.
symbol pb, is the base unit of length in the Kintoopian System of Units (KS) that has been in use on Kintoop since 3d year of the Slick era.The proboscis was defined based on Kintoop’s 1st President Dictatoop’s proboscis; it is the distance from the beginning of the proboscis (organ) to its very end. In comparison to measures on other planets it equals to 0,4 abakuses (Akvayonix), 7 electric arcs (Moobaraak), or 34 centimetres (Earth).
